Douglas Heller

Douglas Heller is the webmaster of ushistory.org, a leading history education website, out of Philadelphia, PA. It was named one of the 10 best on the Web for American History by Forbes Magazine. It receives in excess of 3 million visitors a month. The website was central in breaking and publicizing the story of the President's House and Washington's slaves, soon to be a $6.5 million project just north of the Liberty Bell Pavilion in Independence Historical Park. Mr. Heller organized the successful online campaign to prevent the National Park Service from charging visitor fees at the Liberty Bell and at Independence Hall. He created the original website for the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in the mid 1990s, and was a cofounder of the education website beyondbooks.com, now part of Apex Learning, in Seattle, Washington.

Formely, Mr. Heller was a magazine editor, journalist and crossword-puzzle constructor. He sits on the board of the Independence Hall Association and Hope Lodge Historic Site.
