Quincy Jones wrote "I have known and listened to Misha Segal for many years, and have always admired him as a very talented musician and composer."
In his native Israel, Misha Segal has been acknowledged as an icon in more than one book on popular culture. His jazz, rock and pop influences helped change the face of music on the radio, stage and screen. Furthermore, Misha's classical compositions have been performed by the Israel Philharmonic and the Israel Chamber Ensemble.
A Berklee College of Music graduate, Misha enjoyed a successful career in New York, writing, arranging, orchestrating and producing for such artists as Luther Vandross, Maynard Ferguson and Dave Grusin, and labels including RCA, CBS, and GRP.
Misha continued his work in Los Angeles producing some of Motown's greatest artists including Smokey Robinson, and his own albums featuring the world's finest jazz musicians, among them Chick Corea and Freddy Hubbard. His scores to over 90 feature and TV films (including Phantom of the Opera and Pippi Lonstocking) and television movies (including Andrea's Story for ABC, for which he won an Emmy and Look Away for PBS, for which he was Emmy nominated) continue to receive worldwide acclaim.
Misha performs his Beauty Found in Unlikely Places concert series with the mission to educate the public on lung cancer awareness issues and raise the quality of life of those fighting the biggest battle of theirs. Inspired by his mother who fought the disease for 6 years, these concerts take Misha to cancer centers and support organizations across the country.
