Kevin Gallagher

Kevin Gallagher is a teacher, actor, and director.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in English, with minors in Communication and Filmmaking from Montclair State University and a Master's Degree in English and American Literature from Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY). In addition, Mr. Gallagher is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

As a performer, Mr. Gallagher has appeared in dozens of productions nationwide and in London, including "The Joy of Writing" (an original work based on the poetry of Nobel-Prize winner Wislawa Szymborska) with The Polish Theater Group of New York and the original Las Vegas production of "42nd Street" by Randy Skinner.

An accomplished stage-combat director, Mr. Gallagher has safely instructed actors around the country in such productions as "Robin Hood", "Camelot", and "The Pirates of Penzance".

As a director, he has worked in New York City with such companies as the Guideposts Theater and the Autonomous Theater Company of New York.

Mr. Gallagher was co-founder of Broadway Dance Theatre, a theater and dance academy currently celebrating its tenth year of high-quality instruction in North Plainfield, New Jersey.

As a playwright, Mr. Gallagher's works have appeared at Playwright's Horizons in New York City.

Mr. Gallagher is a third-degree black belt (Sandan) in Seido Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art, who continues to train under the direct instruction of Grand Master Tadashi Nakamura in New York City.

For the last ten years, Mr. Gallagher has brought his love of teaching and children to the prestigious Dalton School, where he has served as English Department Chair, karate instructor, and, currently, instructor and Director of Theater in the middle school.

Mr. Gallagher currently resides in New York City with his wife and two children.
